In honor of our wedding anniversary this week, we decided to splurge on a Pendleton blanket for our house. We have looked for years at these gorgeous blankets. There was an old faded Pendleton blanket in the house when we bought it and we dreamed of finding a new one someday to add to the lore of the house.
The blanket is a commemorative of Capp and Sons , a early blanket company from Illinois. The design is southwest inspired but it fit right in our northwest coastal home.
A few days after we got the blanket, I read in the recent Sunset magazine about the cross pattern symbolizing “balance and harmony” to Native people. Sounds like a perfect addition to our cozy home.
