I adore French Toast. But it never seems to crisp up the way I like. Until today! Found a great recipe on Food Republic website- to crisp up toast just add a tablespoon of flour to the normal egg/milk mix. Recipe called for citrus zest and vanilla as well. It was deliciously crisp.
The recipe used fresh berries for topping but I added my own twist by adding Fage yogurt, apricot preserves and fresh apricots topped with maple syrup. Just add bacon and you have perfect brunch.
