Our beach kitchen has come along way since we bought it- upper & lower cabinets were pink and green. The counter had brown linoleum. About 10 gallons of white paint later, we are putting final touches on our now adorable and beloved galley kitchen.
Recently we added some much needed open shelving. We wanted a chalkboard in the kitchen but didn’t have a spot for one unless it was on the door to the bedroom. We did not want to paint chalkboard paint because it just looks like paint. So for over a year we have looked for a vintage piece.
We found this oak trimmed chalk board at Grand Marketplace in Portland. It is a great antique mall with lots of vintage and salvaged goods. The little chalkboard fit perfectly in size and style – as if it had came with the house in 1915. The exact salvage style we love.
